TEAM Ministry Principles and Guidelines

THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS

The Bible says no one can say, “Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. And no evil spirit would ever want believers to submit more completely to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3 NIV).

Many Christians know Jesus as their Savior but not as Lord. Full Stature Ministries teaches believers how to make Jesus Christ Lord of their lives in a very practical way.

When Jesus is Lord of our life, we can experience the gift of peace He gave us in everyday life. If He is the One who gave us His peace, then it should always be available for us (see John 14:27). If He gave it as a gift, peace is always available. The Bible clearly exhorts us to “let the peace of God rule" in our heart (Col. 3:15). Therefore, supernatural peace is evidence that the Prince of Peace is ruling us.

We agree with the prayer of Paul: “ [A]t the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).

MINISTRY GUIDELINES

The Blue Card. This is the tool that we will be using for ministry. We will not use any other techniques or methods.

The Full Stature Approach uses prayer coaching, not counseling.

Guidelines for Full Stature Ministers

  • Talk as little as possible. The person receiving prayer at the altar should simply nod their head in response to your questions. In a private session, they can give minimal details in a sentence or two.
  • Always point people to Christ. You should stay in the background as much as possible. You are simply a servant helping others receive ministry from the Holy Spirit.

I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV).

  • Teach the person receiving ministry how to rely on Christ in them to do all the work.
  • Do not minister “to them".

Take the role of facilitator to navigate through the process.

  • Allow the Lord to speak directly to the heart of the person receiving ministry
  • Do not give them prophetic words.
  • Do not give words of knowledge, unless it directly corroborates what God has already said to them. Save that for the very end of the prayer session, after the ministry session is over, if at all. If in doubt, keep it to yourself.

Teach people how to use their own God-tools.

  • Each prayer session should train and encourage the person receiving prayer in personal God-confidence.
  • Every saint has the same spiritual equipment but few know how to use what they have been given. Reassure them that it is all easy and that they can do this by themselves.

WE DO NOT USE:

  • Visualization. Examples: (“Picture a door," “Picture Jesus walking into the room," “Picture that angry person smiling.")
  • Guided imagery. Examples: (“See Jesus picking up the little girl and hugging her.")
  • Changing history or fantasizing. We deal with what really happened. Jesus didn't say, “Those angry people aren't really nailing me to the Cross.")
  • Old-fashioned inner healing techniques. (Filling out charts, taking case histories, analyzing fruit-to-root patterns, praying “pray after me" prayers, renouncing lies and or quoting scripture verses without dealing with the emotions, etc.)
  • Prophetic pictures, prophecy, or revelation. These point to potential or a future possibility. They rarely accomplish immediate change in the heart. Say, “Let's just put that on the shelf for now. What is the first real person or real memory that you see?"
